I was born and raised in Manitoba until relocating to the West Coast in 1981.

My interest in art goes back to art lessons at the top of the old Portage la Prairie City Hall when I was about 10 years old. The evocative scent of oil paint lured me up the creaky wooden stairs on Saturday mornings .  Drawing was my escape from life at home growing up .

Later in life , after the last of my 4 children was in school full-time, my sister encouraged me to re-kindle my interest in art. I began doing Decorative painting at Painter’s Corner in North Vancouver.

After several  years , I graduated to art lessons by well-known  pastel artist  Natalia Vetrova  and I experimented in several mediums. One day , by chance, I noticed an artist’s colorful works in a coffee shop on lower Lonsdale . These turned out to be by renowned artist Dene Croft.  Shortly afterwards, I began taking lessons at the Holland/Croft  studio  and have been in the Mentoring program for the past 2  ½ years.

I enjoy painting landscapes, portraits and still life in oil. I am a member of the North Shore Artists’ Guild and The Federation of Canadian Artists.

I have participated in exhibitions at Cityscape Gallery , the NSAG Annual  Fine Art Sale, and Brushstrokes Gallery.
